Ithaca DSA Presents: Women of Juarez

Ithaca Democratic Socialists of America Presents #375:

"Women of Juarez" Verónica Leyva of the Mexico Solidarity Network
tells about Juarez, on the Mexican border. The city is notorious for
murders of women, many of whom work in the maquiladora factories. But
women there are also discovering new forms of economic cooperation.

David Block and Edmundo Paz-Soldan tell how until recently a European minority dominated, but now Native American Evo Morales is President. His party proposed a controversial new constitution, which led to unrest, but compromise is in the works.

Workers' Center Election Night Community Party with Live TV Feeds/Large Screen, Tuesday, November 4th from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

The Tompkins County Workers' Center invites the public to a Community Election Night Party in the large auditorium (Women's Community Building, 100 W. Seneca St, Ithaca) from 9:00 p.m. to 3 a.m. with live/large screen television election night results (including the Daily Show)! Come be with your best friends and neighbors as we laugh, cry, and root for our favorites together over ice cream and popcorn. Then help us think about how to take our country back beginning the next morning. Everyone is welcome!
